About Us
The English-Georgian Translation Bureau's translation team began to coalesce around 2004 to 2008 from a group of fellow students who variously studied at the Tbilisi State Pedagogical University in Russian, the Tbilisi ETI Language School (set up by British Petroleum) in English and a Masters degree course in English, at Tbilisi State University. After completing their studies, members of the team became involved in the translation business, working for various translation agencies in Tbilisi and working with the Russian and English languages.
The current CEO started working with some of the above members of the team in 2009 and subsequently formed a partnership with the now General Manager, having identified a need for very high quality English-Georgian translation and the potential to expand the business by means of Internet marketing. The CEO is native English and holds a First Class BSc. in Computer Science from Anglia Ruskin University, in Cambridge. The other founding partner, and General Manager, is native Georgian and holds the equivalent of a B.Ed. degree in Russian, a Masters degree in English and also an IELTS 6.5 qualification. In the past, she has also lived and worked in the United Kingdom for a period of over 18 months.
By now, our key staff have over 8 years of experience in translating a huge variety of documents including legal, medical, scientific, commercial and computer/Internet. Also, over this time, we have established good working relationships with reputable notary public firms/offices, who we will be happy to recommend. Additionally, for our international clients who might want to establish a presence in Georgia, we can offer a project management service, where we can deal with everything from power of attorney, incorporation, office premises, hiring and setting up a Web-site etc.
